Where I come from
I grew up in Indiana, rode on the equestrian team at Auburn, and then spent 12 years in the classroom as a teacher.
From there, life moved us around Texas. We lived in Austin. Then Waco for five years. And in 2024, my husband, Phil, came to me with a job opportunity in Belton that neither of us saw coming.
We weren't looking to move. He brought me down for the day anyway. We walked Nolan Creek, got coffee at Sly Fox, had lunch at Miller's, walked the H‑E‑B, and toured a few neighborhoods. By the end of the day, I was sold. Forty five days later, we closed on our house.
So when I tell clients to take a scouting trip, it's because I did exactly that, and it changed everything.
How I went from teacher to REALTOR®
I loved teaching, but I wasn't sure I wanted to stay in the classroom forever. I wanted a change.
So one summer, I got my license while working as a transaction coordinator for an agent who became a great mentor. That summer taught me what really happens behind the scenes of a deal, every deadline and every moving piece, before I ever represented a client myself.
Then I gave myself one school year. I taught full time and sold real estate at the same time, with one goal: be busy enough by the end of that year to go full time. I hit it, and I haven't looked back.
Why teachers make great agents
Teaching and real estate have more in common than people think.
No two days are the same. You wear a lot of hats. You work evenings and weekends because that's when the work needs to get done. You manage your own time, stay motivated without anyone checking on you, and keep a lot of plates spinning at once.
And most of all, you teach. That's the part I use every single day. Buying or selling a home is a process most people only go through a handful of times, and I want my clients to understand every step, not just sign where I point.
Life in Belton
We're a coaching family. Phil coaches here, and we live in the community where he works. One day, the kids at elementary school with my kids will be coached by him. That's a big part of why I love helping coaching families and anyone moving here for a new job: I've lived that move.
You'll find us at Tiger Field on fall Friday nights, at the Fourth of July parade, and probably grabbing a coffee at Atrium or a frozen yogurt at Graley's.
By the numbers
- 6 years in real estate
- 120+ transactions closed in my career
- 30 to 40 closings a year
- About $15 million in annual production over the last couple of years
These numbers are my own individual production.
The Home Court Team
For the past two years, I've also led the Home Court Team at Kelly, Realtors. I recruit and coach a team of agents, many of them moms building a career around their families. Each agent on the team has their own clients and production.
Who I help
- People moving to Bell County for a new job
- Sellers relocating away for work or family
- Families buying a bigger house or buying and selling at the same time
- First time buyers

I also still help past clients and friends in the Waco area, where I lived for five years.
